Lucía Stubrin is a researcher, curator, and university professor. She was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, where she lives and works. She holds a PhD in Art Theory and History from the University of Buenos Aires and a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication from the National University of Entre Ríos (UNER). She is a research professor at UNER and a professor at the National University of Litoral. She leads the Biosemiotics, Art, and Technique Study Group (GEBAT), and her research area focuses on the art-science-technology problematics, with an emphasis on life sciences and bio-art.
Author of the first theoretical book on the subject in Latin America, Bioart: Poetics of the Living (EUDEBA | Ediciones UNL, 2021), she has obtained national and international doctoral and postdoctoral scholarships and has received awards for research and curating in contemporary art. She has also served as a judge in visual arts competitions and provides consultancy for museums and art archives.
